The National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, funded cruel experiments on dogs as young as six months old in order to test anti-parasitic treatments, according to a letter signed by 24 lawmakers. "They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies."

"This cruel procedure – which is opposed with rare exceptions by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and others – seems to have been performed so that experimenters would not have to listen to the pained cries of the beagle puppies. This is a reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds," the lawmakers said.
Most of the bipartisan lawmaker group is Republican, but there are a few Democrats also concerned about this horrific abuse of animals by Fauci, who has proven himself to be a monster with no limit to the horrors he is willing to inflict on living beings.

The House members that sent the letter want Dr. Fauci to explain himself in response to the allegations in the White Coat Waste Project's report. On Thursday, it was reported that the National Institutes of Health acknowledged that the NIAID funded risky gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. While the NIH denied that the research can be tied to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that originated in Wuhan, China, the health agency acknowledged that the banned gain-of-function research was conducted with U.S. taxpayer money. The admission was noted by utgers' Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology Richard H. Ebright.
"NIH corrects untruthful assertions by NIH Director Collins and NIAID Director Fauci that NIH had not funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan," Professor Ebright notes. "NIH states that EcoHealth Alliance violated Terms and Conditions of NIH grant AI110964." Ebright points out that NIH knew about the documents in 2018 and reviewed them repeatedly.

One commenter at Zero Hedge suggested that perhaps Fauci could be used for similar experiments, though the "scientists" should leave the vocal cords intact, if you catch the drift.

In response to this, another demeaned Fauci to the status of "Walmart Mengele," asking when the world is going to demand that he finally be held to account for his crimes against humanity, as well as the new revelation that Fauci has committed crimes against innocent animals.

Government-funded researchers tested AIDS drugs on hundreds of foster children over the past two decades, often without providing them a basic protection afforded in federal law and required by some states, an Associated Press review has found.
The research funded by the National Institutes of Health spanned the country. It was most widespread in the 1990s as foster care agencies sought treatments for their HIV-infected children that weren't yet available in the marketplace.
The practice ensured that foster children - mostly poor or minority - received care from world-class researchers at government expense, slowing their rate of death and extending their lives. But it exposed a vulnerable population to the risks of medical research and drugs that were known to have serious side effects in adults and for which the safety for children was unknown.

Some states declined to participate in medical experiments. Tennessee said its foster care rules generally prohibit enlisting children in such trials. California requires a judge's order. And Wisconsin "has absolutely never allowed, nor would we even consider, any clinical experiments with the children in our foster care system," spokeswoman Stephanie Marquis said.

Illinois officials confirmed two or three foster children were approved to participate in a mid-1990s study of dapsone. Researchers hoped the drug would prevent pneumonia that afflicts AIDS patients.
Researchers reported some children had to be taken off the drug because of "serious toxicity," others developed rashes, and the rates of death and blood toxicity were significantly higher in children who took the medicine daily, rather than weekly.
At least 10 children died from a variety of causes, including four from blood poisoning, and researchers said they were unable to determine a safe, useful dosage. They said the deaths didn't appear to be "directly attributable" to dapsone but nonetheless were "disturbing."
"An unexpected finding in our study was that overall mortality while receiving the study drug was significantly higher in the daily dapsone group. This finding remains unexplained," the researchers concluded.
Another study involving foster children in the 1990s treated children with different combinations of adult antiretroviral drugs. Among 52 children, there were 26 moderate to severe reactions - nearly all in infants. The side effects included rash, fever and a major drop in infection-fighting white blood cells.
New York City officials defend the decision to enlist foster children en masse, saying there was a crisis in the early 1990s and research provided the best treatment possibilities. Nonetheless, they are changing their policy so they no longer give blanket permission to enroll children in pre-approved studies.
"We learned some things from our experience," said Elizabeth Roberts, assistant commissioner for child and family health at the Administration for Children's Services. "It is a more individualized review we will be conducting."
Researchers likewise defend their work, saying they often sat with foster families to explain the risks and benefits, and provided them literature and 24-hour phone numbers.
"We talk about it. Then they come the next time. There is no rush," explained Dr. Ram Yogev, the chief pediatric AIDS researcher in Chicago whose patients include a large number of foster children.
Kline, the Texas researcher, added: "I never wanted a parent or guardian to ever say 'yes' simply because they thought that it was what I wanted them to do. I wanted it to be the right choice for them. I think there is not any single right answer for any family."

Anthony Fauci's National Institutes of Health once experimented on foster children with AIDS, testing experimental drugs on the children while almost always failing to provide an independent advocate to make sure the children remain safe and healthy. This happened throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, and the practice was exposed in 2005.
According to Anthony Fauci's biography page on the official NIH website, the longest-serving government employee began working for the NIH in 1968. In 1984, Fauci became the Director of NIAID, a position he still holds today.
As Director of NIAID, Fauci oversees research to "prevent, diagnose, and treat infectious and immune-mediated diseases, including HIV/AIDS" according to the website. In 1988, Fauci became the first Director of the Office of AIDS research.
While Fauci was in these roles, it was revealed in 2005, the NIH oversaw the enrolment of thousands of foster children with AIDS into controversial programs that allowed them to receive experimental drugs designed to combat the illness. Some of these children later died, and most were not given independent advocates that were promised.
According to John Soloman, then reporting for the Associated Press, the NIH "promised in writing to provide an independent advocate to safeguard the kids' well-being as they tested potent AIDS drugs," however, these advocates failed to materialize for almost every child involved. Solomon wrote that, with a general lack of oversight, "Several studies that enlisted foster children reported that patients suffered side effects such as rashes, vomiting and sharp drops in infection-fighting blood cells, and one reported a 'disturbing' higher death rate among children who took higher doses of a drug, records show."
"Some foster children died during studies," reported Solomon after noting that the majority of children appear to not have received an advocate. "State or city agencies said they could find no records that any deaths were directly caused by the experimental treatments," he noted.
A 2009 article from The New York Times claims that no New York City children "died as a result of the trials" and that children in the city were not selected for the trials based on their race.
Still, the Times found "that the agency had not always followed its own protocols and kept poor records." The Times also discovered that some of the children died, but those involved with the research asserted the deaths were unrelated to the experimental drugs.
Interestingly, Fauci's name is not mentioned in any of the articles about foster children being used for experiments, despite him having a leadership position at the time. Further complicating the omission, Fauci was loathed by the LGBT community at the time the experiments were being conducted and when the news about the foster child experiments broke.
In 2018, only two years before the mainstream media would lionize Fauci via its nonstop coverage of COVID-19, then-82-year-old AIDS activist Larry Kramer described Fauci as "The consummate manipulative bureaucrat who speaks out of too many sides of his mouth.'' Kramer died in May of 2020.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) sent a letter to Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institutes of Health demanding answers to reports that taxpayer money from his department was used to subject dogs to abusive testing.
"Yesterday, I sent a letter to Dr. Fauci regarding cruel, taxpayer-funded experiments on puppies; debarking before drugging and killing them," the South Carolina Republican tweeted Saturday along with a copy of the letter. A report from the White Coat Waste Project that was based off a Freedom of Information Act request with the National Institutes of Allergy & Infectious Disease found that more than $400,000 in taxpayer money was spent on canine experiments during which beagles were infected with parasites via biting flies.
The Project reported that Dr. Anthony Fauci's bureaucracy's budget in 2021 is an estimated $6 billion, and that documents obtained through FOIA show evidence of a study in which otherwise healthy beagles were treated with an experimental medication before being introduced to biting flies that were carrying a parasite known to be contagious to humans.

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which houses the NIH, issued the following statement:
"All animals used in NIH-funded research are protected by laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the smallest possible number of subjects and the greatest commitment to their welfare . . .
"The images of beagles were drawn from a manuscript published in July 2021 in the journal PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases. The manuscript mistakenly cited support from NIAID, when in fact NIAID did not support this specific research shown in the images of the beagles being circulated . . . The research described by the White Coat Waste Project at the University of Georgia focuses on lymphatic filariasis (LF), a mosquito-transmitted parasitic disease that affects millions of people in many countries around the world.
"There also are concerns raised about work involving beagles under an NIAID contract for preclinical pharmacology and toxicology services. Under this contract, the contractor conducts testing as required in animal models by the FDA, in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines and in a facility accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) or its equivalent. Vocal cordectomies, conducted humanely under anesthesia, may be used in research facilities where numerous dogs are present. This is to reduce noise, which is not only stressful to the animals but can also reach decibel levels that exceed OSHA allowable limits for people and can lead to hearing loss."
In a statement to Fox News, Rep. Mace said that "using taxpayer money to de-bark, drug and kill beagle puppies is both inhumane and a disgrace to this country."
"The $1.68 million of taxpayer funds to force-feed and/or inject dozens of beagle puppies with experimental drugs is unnecessarily brutal and gruesome. Dr. Fauci and the rest of the NIH leadership should come forward and explain what the hell is truly going on," Mace added.
The controversial treatment of man's best friend has resulted in widespread criticism on social media including from podcast star Joe Rogan.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also weighed in.
The letter from Mace comes days after Fauci found himself in hot water for repeated claims that taxpayer dollars were not spent on gain of function research in a Wuhan, China lab which was seemingly contradicted by an NIH official.

James Comer, ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, an NIH official admits that a "limited experiment" was conducted in order to test if "spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model."
The letter states that the laboratory mice infected with the modified bat virus "became sicker" than mice that were given the unmodified bat virus.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have renewed efforts to hold the National Institutes of Health (NIH) accountable for programs involving monkeys... Another series of cruel experiments using beagles recently sparked outrage from PETA and lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
