Had to share this piece I vaulted in a file cabinet alongside every essay and letter to friends and GFs, glad I did for this one item.
It's evidence that my pro-freewill end of life positions go way back to 1983. check out the simple comic strip, then scroll to rest of my comment below (zoom in to the action/dialog):

It's a 1983 stickfigure artwork from highschool art class that illustrates the hypocrisy dilemma of unsanctioned suicide vs freewill choice and how cops priests and the men in white will treat you like a crazy criminal for your taboo choice. It always struck me as odd.
while most of us aren't criminals or crazy, blocking the exits, like walls around a prison/ward, makes us cultural prisoners stuck in a straight jacket of guilt on the topic of wanting a merciful demise on our terms when we choose rather than suffer inhumanely the way they want.
I'm against 'violent messy' suicide due to the cleanup trauma it causes everyone else, but if they block the exits, it's no surprise 5% of us feel the only viable option to avoid prolonged suffering is to jump off structures, leap into oncoming trains, gunshots, slit wrists, bathtub electrocution, overdose rx cocktails or on the non-violent side: starvation and carbon monoxide, anything to escape whatever torture, physical or madness.
And it turns out anxiety and mental emotional symptoms including 'less than positive' disposition/outlook do not originate in the mind, are not a mindset, but are often the result of hidden physical irritation of neural tissues or neuron health via flawed genetics/metabolics/autoimmune.
Many behavioral issues and off-kilter traits incl grumpy angry impatient irritated people are physically medically ill first and foremost, and psychs/doctors who don't grasp this are the wrong doctors to listen to. That said, one of my top 3 naturopathic doctors to write into my directive is a renegade naturopathic psych who studies/teaches this, knows MTHFR genetics, and stopped relying on rx treatment for disorders vs diet/supplements in a holistic approach to address it all in tandem at the root: Dr. Charles Parker at CorePsych.
It's no coincidence that a psych ran the nazi camps and many control freak pychos hide in plain sight among us, parading as psychs doctors dentists scientists execs lawyers politician actors. But that's veering into a next level rabbithole, still establishment professions at large are a taboo cult(ure) conspiring to prolong all suffering and skip/avoid/circumvent viable solutions, then they use every profession/avenue to block the exits to a worldwide open-air torture prison and make 'suicide emancipation' taboo. clockwork orange depicts the futility of exiting this very matrix.
I am for anyone's right to end the suffering they experience, specially victims of violence/trauma ex. rape/war/torture after trying other avenues.
If it was legal, I'd create an organization to help destigmatize without guilt and promote/honor those who see the merits of ending their suffering on terms far broader than 'terminal disease' and 'only 6 months left to live' prognosis (the current legal parameter is a tease, a bad joke).
* the last paragraph (and parenthetical re climate), could literally get my whole blog banned/deplatformed in the new agenda 21 socialist utopia.
