When I worked for the government if we had a spill of the same amount of mercury as in an average dental amalgam it would be necessary to declare a hazmat incident. Consider the move to shut down coal plants due to minor mercury emissions. Also in my state one can no longer throw a CFL light bulb in the trash, due to mercury content, it is considered hazardous waste. However most dentists think it is OK to have mercury in your mouth outgassing every time you chew.

Fluoride is a Class A poison very similar to arsenic, check out the periodic table. I have arsenic in my well water and the necessary arsenic filter removes only one other element group, fluorides and fluorines.

So both of these claims are at least plausible, if not proven; and the ADA seems to be obstructing the development and testing of alternative treatment.

Please do not be fooled by the snake oil this book is selling. The dentist who wrote this is in direct violation of the American Dental Associations code of ethics.

1) Preventative dentistry is the key to a life with a natural dentition. The best prevention of caries that has been developed is fluoride which strengthens the tooth enamel and has NO health side effects when correctly dosed.

2) Amalgam fillings are perfectly safe for everyone and provide the best seal of the filling to tooth junction. The silver in the filling (yes the "mercury" fillings this book speaks of are mainly comprised of silver) corrodes the edge of the fillings shut over weeks the same way your silverware tarnishes. This leaves an impenetrable edge at the interface of the filling and tooth.

3) The white fillings either release flouride (glass ionomer) or contain bisphenol A.... Neither of which will harm you but both of which have their own pseudoscience stigma.

Please listen to your dentist and not some guy trying to sell you a book based on shock and awe

Amalgam fillings are NOT safe you, creep. I was getting sicker than a dog from amalgam fillings. I had them all removed, did chelation therapy, and now my health is back. So stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

The biggest snake oil peddlers are the dentists and cdc who have pushed the use of fluoride without any acknowledgement of its potential for harm. It is a neurotoxin, hormone disruptor, and has never once been studied for safety in children. 

Yeah. Let's give uncontrolled doses of rat poison to an entire population without regard to their weight, size, kidney health, or other things that would normally be considered when prescribing medication. 

Oh. And let's have non-medical people (city councils, general public) prescribe it even though prescribing medication without a license is illegal.

Yep, makes perfect sense to me.

Factoid: Dental incomes are higher in fluoridated cities than non-fluoridated cities. And, wonder of wonders, they manage to have higher incomes even though there is a statistically significant higher number of dentists in fluoridated communities.
