Re: Meza Labwork

after sending dr. mesa the email below outlining the next labwork i'd like to discuss based on readings, i paid her a visit today and she wrote up all she could, had a parallel list re neuropathy, that included the same, a couple STDs, hepatitis c, and a couple blood tests we haven't done yet.

in the writing i noted top 5 causes of neuropathy incl B12 deficiency, so today was first time i recall her suggesting that i try coming in for monthly B12 injections in fatty tissue which helps people with neuropathy and low energy feel better, some have absorption hurdles can't digest B12 orally so injections work.  i told her naturopath advises same but with methyl B12.  both are saying often patients just feel better even if labwork might not indicate/confirm it.  she offered it on the spot, said i'll mull it over.  if regular B12 doesn't cut it, maybe i can convince her to use methyl B12.

i sent my naturopath the same email and she explained to me that being high in 'random' glucose is meaningless, ignore it ex. could've been immediately after a meal.  she did see me low in zinc.  glucose aside, top 5 causes of neuropathy incl b12 or active b12 deficiency and pernicious anemia alongside assorted infections incl sibo, hiv, and leprosy.

my years of compacted 2x/week constipation predates all supplements so is either rx related but feels more like semi-offline 'lazy bowels' - like a 'bowel motility' autonomic neuropathic symptom aka alongside others of last 3+ years:  dizziness on standing re hypotension, breathing difficulty on mild exertion (ex. gym, spin, soccer, sex all make me 'feel like I'm gonna die/passout'), the 'marginally low body temperature' aka 'feeling cold', urinary retention/urethra emptying aka after-dribble (since 2012 but too embarrassing to tell anyone) and frequent trips to bathroom at night, occasional pounding heartbeats and swallowing errors, salivation/drooling, all these are autonomic neuropathy.

i look forward to see you friday to talk about the 'low body temp' angles: underactive thyroid, autoimmune, anemia, and hear your best test ideas.

contemplating these:

holoTC  holo-transcobalamin
MMA urine test  (blood test not accurate with SIBO which is common for these symptoms)

STDs
GGT
LDH (last one was oct 2018)

  • i am now diagnosed by MDs with 'neuropathy nerve damage+weakness' validating all i've been dealing with and describing for 15 years.  in my view, based on symptoms, it involves motor, sensory and autonomic nerve types.  the neurologist has no further suggestions or treatment so i have to educate myself on 'what it is and what to do' myself and first ID the cause for alternative treatments.

  • looking through material it looks like it could be a 'methyl b12 deficiency', a result of MTHFr gene/enzyme deficiency and the impaired methylation inherent, all of that is so far confirmed by testing.
    • CAVEAT:  my B12 is normal to marginally low, but via triangulation of other biomarkers, we found methylation hurdles indicating poor conversion of B12 resulting in a methyl B12 deficiency.

  • looking through neuropathy material, a neurologist finds often glucose is marginally high with new patients and many are often full blown diabetic 5 years later, so i had to look at labwork specifically glucose(random) which does IMHO seem 'marginally high and climbing' when compared to history since 2011 ex. 88 in oct 2018 and 87 in 2016:

  • looking at marginal bloodwork, here are others i see (logged all labwork since 2011 into spreadsheet so i can compare across years):
    • WBC WHITE BLOOD CELL CNT  [3.8 - 10.8]
      3/16/19 ER  11.47
      8/29/17 to 10/15/17  11.1

    • LYMPHOCYTES %  [20-40%]
      3/16/19 ER  12.3
      8/29/17 to 10/15/17  14.4

    • CARBON DIOXIDE (BICARBONATE)
      10/26/17  30 mmol/L  [20-31]
      2/10/17 to 3/14/17  29  [19-30]
      11/13/13  32 mmol/L  [21-31]

    • Copper  [70-175]

      4/4/19    59 mcg/L
