wolfnotes transcribed (as i watch this)...
Pfeiffer Protocol, anxiety/depression, looked at histamine levels, if high = undermethylator, etc. but in reality, this protocol doesn't always work.
i've had patients who were 'overmethylators' aka low histamine, yet do well with methyls.
so to say histamine high or low is about methyls, is not quite true, might be a guide but not 100%. some have an excess of methyls that doesnt have anything to do with low histamine. many aspects of whole blood histamine is expensive.
many are following pfeiffer protocols, its an issue as they dont take all considerations into accnt. is it always the case that if low histamine, you can't give folate? no.
if high histamine, low methyls, must you have methyls? no.
very easy to find out histamine issue with simple questionaire.
high histamine can be produced by gut bacteria, so it can get very confusing.
i dont like the term 'over-methylation' (vs abundance)
same is true for 'under-methylation' but it doesn't always correlate to 'dose more folate'.
there are many forms of folate and so many processes that need it
folks with COMT find it difficult to use methyl folate, but we can give them SAMe to improve methyls without using folate.
q. been on low histamine diet for weeks, no change.
a. perhaps you need low level b6 or clay/charcoal and your issue may not be low histamine
q. who do you use for CDSA
a. doctor's data Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA)™for the many things from bacteria to parasites, fatty acids, etc.
q. paleo and may go vegan, but high copper...
a. not a fan of vegan or vegetarian diets because b12 compromised...
q.
a. so many things are affected by the gut, sulfur matters, candida overgrowth can fx mood, parasites, our vitamins, folks with gut issues are depressed and anxious.
if lowering histamine didn't work, the high histamine could be due to 2-3 other things
dysbiotic bacteria is bad, that shouldn't be there.
sibo test is different from CDSA
what are symptoms of over and under methylation
overmethylation = under utilization -excess methyls not being used
anxiety, depression, muscle aches/pains, rashes, eczema, headache/migraines, sleep, gut issues, angry/cranky/irritable
undermethylation
protein synth, chronic fatigue, neurotransmitter issues, hormones issues, fat metabolism issues, memory/vision/hearing issues,
how to heal the gut
- prebiotics like partially hydrogized guagam, on the site, great fiber, drink before bed
- vit A
- cod liver oil
- tumeric
- green tea (non caffeinated)
- probiotics
mop up the gut
- clay
- charcoal
- silica powder
find out what is causing the leaky gut, allergies could do that
200-300mg folic acid is all our systems can handle
COMT +/+ = higher dopamine, share symptoms with 'overmethyls"... so SAMe may be better option
q. how can i have many symptoms of over and under? fluctuate?
a. because one day you could have too many next day too few, what you ate drank or supplement, ex. green tea are methyl doners, which is why you should work with practitioner
7-8 Hcy good, but then i've got people with normal 7-8 Hcy, and still feel terrible, so there are many variables
high CRP is high inflammatory marker, and it could be anywhere
the environment matters, but no question the MTHFR gene in most cases is what made these folks susceptible in the first place. epigenitics... when in the womb... her and her mother's diet/environment had big impact on whether gene expresses or not, if she's not stressed, great diet, exercising lots during pregnancy, and has good folate status, then the gene may not express.
q. my Hcy 13
a. too high, you need B6 B12 Folate and maybe TMG
see articles on Hcy on website
